There’s a person behind that prompt. Everyone sees “Made with AI” and suddenly imagines the robot did the whole thing alone. No human. No thought. No messy draft. Just beep boop, instant genius. Not quite. Somebody still sat there with the idea. Somebody typed the weird first version. Somebody deleted it. Somebody tried again. Somebody looked at the result and said, “That’s close, but not it.” That is the part people miss. AI did not make creativity cheaper because people stopped caring. It made creativity faster because the locked door got kicked open. For years, making things came with a cover charge: software, equipment, training, time, confidence, access. Now more people can get in the room. Is that exciting? Yes. Is it uncomfortable? Also yes. Every major tool changes who gets to participate. The printing press did. Cameras did. The internet did. Now AI is doing it with a little too much speed and a very suspicious amount of confidence. So yes, ask questions. Ask about originality. Ask about ownership. Ask about honesty. But do not pretend the prompt had no pulse. The tool can generate. It cannot wonder. It cannot care. It cannot taste. It cannot decide what matters. People still do.
